Icelandic horses, Iceland
The Icelandic horse is a small-sized breed of horses found in Iceland. Due to strict regulations, Icelandic horses remain purebred to this day. Equestrians from all over the world visit Iceland to gain more knowledge about this unique breed. Icelandic regulations also prohibit importing horses into the country and once exported, they cannot come back. This is done mainly to prevent disease-spreading amongst the horses. Icelandic horses come in a stunning variety of colours like gray, black, chestnut, roan, and more. These horses are usually only ridden after they turn four and mainly used for showing, racing, and leisure activities.
