Did you know that today is World Book Day? The UK and Ireland hosts this charity event every year on the first Thursday of March. However, the international holiday to celebrate reading isn’t until 23 April. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation host their annual event in 1995 to promote reading, publishing and copyright. This holiday has a few names, so you might know it as the International Day of the Book or Copyright Day. The UK and Ireland have an event on 23 April too—World Book Night. The Reading Agency, an independent charity, hosts this event every year to promote the power of reading and sharing books with others.
