New Orleans is home to the French Quarter, a neighbourhood consisting of extraordinary, old buildings, some of them dating back to almost 300 years. It was set up by the French in 1718 and is the oldest neighbourhood in New Orleans. The French Quarter has a rich history, but that’s not all it is about. The French Quarter also has some amazing fine-dining places and eateries. Jackson Square and Saint Louis Cathedral are great examples of the kind of architectural delights one can see here. Bourbon Street is where all the partying happens as it is the nightlife hub of French Quarter. Anyone who wants to explore the beauty and take in all of the charm of this lovely place should go around it on foot.
