Grey-headed flying fox

Is a bat with a one-metre wingspan made less intimidating if we call it a flying fox? We think so. Besides, the grey-headed flying fox is an important pollinator and seed distributor, feeding on fruit, nectar and pollen as it flies around the east coast of Australia. At the time of writing this, not one of them has reverted to human form and purchased a spooky old mansion in the mountains.
