A boardwalk in Norddorf on Amrum Island, Germany
Take either fork in the boardwalk in Norddorf, as they both appear to lead to the beach where the Wadden Sea, part of the North Sea, stretches on to the horizon. The village is on Amrum, the largest of the North Frisian Islands. Though the islands belong to Germany, nearby Denmark has a strong influence on the culture and cuisine of Amrum.
