Info. Portuairk, Ardnamurchan peninsula, Scottish Highlands
We’re looking down on the edge of Portuairk in the Scottish Highlands, the most westerly settlement on the British mainland. Portuairk is located on the westerly edge of the Ardnamurchan peninsula, a 130-square-kilometre area which is home to some of Scotland’s wildest landscapes – and an ancient volcanic crater. You’ll need to take the ferry or a long, narrow winding road to get to this remote area. Once here, there are white sandy beaches to explore and sweeping views of Scotland's famous Isle of Skye and the Small Isles of the Inner Hebrides.
