Kenai Fjords National Park
The Cove of Spires, shown here, is just one of the dramatic glacial landscapes that you can experience in Kenai Fjords National Park. Located near Seward, Alaska, the park is home to 38 glaciers which cover over half the park's area in ice—though climate change has reduced that drastically over the last decades. Almost five percent of this American state is covered by glaciers. That’s about 75,000 square kilometres! There are approximately 100,000 glaciers in Alaska, ranging from tiny cirque glaciers to huge valley glaciers—and most of them remain unnamed.
