An artistic way to observe festivals
What you see in today’s homepage image is a sand sculpture created by noted artist Sudarshan Pattnaik, on Christmas day back in 2008. Pattnaik is recongised throughout the world as a sand artist, and has represented India in numerous exhibitions and competitions, most recently the 2019 Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival in Boston, USA. Hailing from Puri, Odisha where he still lives, Sudarshan Pattnaik was awarded (among his many other achievements) the Padma Shri award by the government, in 2014.
