Birds by number. Flock online for the Great Backyard Bird Count
Both amateur and professional bird-watchers are invited to participate in the 22nd annual Great Backyard Bird Count, an online citizen science project that helps scientists monitor bird populations around the world. Participating is easy–just venture outside for as little as 15 minutes and record any bird sightings. Last year’s event saw nearly 200,000 participants who recorded a combined 6,310 species.
