'The Eclipse' by Jacob Hashimoto. Art in the chapel
On display in New York City until the end of October is Jacob Hashimoto’s installation known as ‘The Eclipse’. The artist built this room-filling piece out of rice paper and bamboo kites, stringing his delicate work across the ceiling of the Chapel of St Cornelius on Governors Island. ‘The Eclipse’, which was originally installed in Venice, Italy, is accompanied by another of the artist’s works, ‘Never Comes Tomorrow’, on display in another location on the island.
