Sailing past sundown

Seen here between proud palms as the golden hour transitions to blue, sailboats of all sizes are a constant sight in this state capital. In Hawaii's hospitable climate and steady winds, you can rig up and set sail just about every day of the year, and well into the evening. This spot on Magic Island—not really an island but an artificial peninsula that hosts many community events—is the perfect place to watch experienced and amateur sailors alike ply the ocean off Honolulu.
