Rhodes to ruins
The acropolis of Lindos may be only the second-most famous ancient Greek marvel to grace the isle of Rhodes, but it has the advantage of still existing. Unlike the Colossus of Rhodes—a Wonder of the Ancient World raised here in 280 BCE, only for an earthquake to topple it in just half a century—much of the ruined acropolis remains standing. That includes structures predating the Colossus, like the columns of the Temple of Athena Lindia seen here.
