Dozens of small shelters skirt busy beaches here at the seaside resort of Southwold, England, whether built on boardwalks above the beach or plopped right on the sand like these. Owning one of these convenient day-use huts is a pricey prospect, as they fetch well over 100,000 British pounds on the market. But many can be rented for a reasonable fee, offering a kitchenette and shady, private lounge space for a long day at the coast. Each hut has a name as unique as its paint job, from White Swan to Jabba the Hut.
