A perfect Pismo pit stop
If you're road tripping between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the quickest route is a long, inland stretch of I-5—but where's the fun in that? If you've got all day, the scenic route is the way to go: 500 miles of the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway connect California's two biggest urban centers. Roadside attractions vary from Big Sur's stunning seaside cliffs to the dozens of charming beach communities lining the coast at sea level. This low-tide shot was taken at Eldwayen Ocean Park in the town of Pismo Beach, just a few blocks off the storied highway.
