Many provinces throughout Vietnam are favorite tourist destinations, but some are still remote enough to remain relatively undiscovered. Cao Bang is a sort of hidden treasure, a highland province in the northeast of the country bordering China's Guangxi Province. It's said that roughly 90% of Cao Bang's area is made up of heavily forested mountains, and you can see a great example of that mostly vertical landscape in our image. Rice fields are frequently found where the land is flat, and on hillsides as well. Along with all the greenery comes some splashes of blue—the province is home to Ban Gioc Falls, one of the most beautiful cascades in the country.
