A vampire's vantage?
Horror buffs have the best chance at recognizing this dramatically designed castle perched high on a precipice. Several scenes from the 1922 silent film 'Nosferatu' were shot here at Orava Castle, which stood in for the Transylvanian keep of the evil vampire Count Orlok. While the real Transylvania is located a couple country borders away in Romania, Orava was built when this part of modern-day Slovakia lay within medieval Hungary.
