Peering under the pier

This tongue-like pedestrian pier is meant to offer an elevated perch for appreciating South Korea sunsets, but if peculiar architecture is your pleasure, a peek from below might also pique your interest. And if you fancy a long walk under a short pier, the mudflats of Cheonsu Bay stretch well past the walkway's end during low tide (just bring good rubber boots and mind the tide tables). Once you're back onshore, explore Namdang and other villages lining the coast and you'll find the bay's bounty on offer for dinner, including chunky cockles and juicy jumbo shrimp.
