King William Bridge underpass illuminated in Adelaide, Australia
With the historic decision to legalise same-sex marriage in Australia, even this bridge underpass in Adelaide seems to be celebrating—it appears to be reflecting the two main symbols of the LGBT community, the pink triangle and the rainbow flag. Plenty of people have reason to celebrate, too. Nearly 80 percent of eligible Australians participated in a nationwide volunteer survey, and by a margin of more than 23 percent they expressed clear support for changing the law to allow same-sex couples to marry. Respondents in all states and territories recorded a majority supporting the change. We’re guessing that the Australian wedding industry is looking forward to a bumper summer.
