Baby and juvenile elephants in Amboseli National Park in Kenya

Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya is renowned for being one of the best places in the world to get close to free-ranging elephants. There are about 1,200 African elephants in the park (according to figures from 2011), where large herds can be found against the immense backdrop of Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro. Elephants are social creatures and form deep bonds between friends and family members, like this young pair in our photo.
