The Maratona dles Dolomites bicycle race in Italy
This is an aerial view of the Maratona dles Dolomites, a cycling race that’s not for the faint-hearted. The most dedicated of these competitors will pedal through seven mountain passes as they ride 138 kilometres through the Dolomite mountains of Italy. About 166 riders participated in the first race in 1987. Today, due to a high volume of applicants, the race is limited to 9,000 riders.
