Happy Mother's Day!. Mother's Day

On Mother's Day, we celebrate the invaluable role of mothers and maternal figures in our lives. The holiday was first celebrated in the US in 1908 and later was given federal recognition in 1914. Anna Jarvis led efforts to have it designated as a national holiday, though she later expressed displeasure with its' commercialisation. This special day is observed around the world to show appreciation for their many contributions, with each culture adding their unique traditions. Whether we show our appreciation with a gesture bought, made, or spoken, today is a day to show appreciation for the women who have given us their dedication, patience and selfless love.
