'Sun Tunnels' by artist Nancy Holt near Lucin, Utah
Multimedia artist Nancy Holt created this large installation northwest of Salt Lake City, Utah. The ‘Sun Tunnels’ are four large concrete tubes arranged in an X formation, oriented so that on both the summer solstice and winter solstice (today) the rising and setting sun will appear in the middle of the circular openings. Who says Stonehenge gets all the celestial calendar fun?
