Composite photo of the beach in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy
This is a photo – not a painting – of Lignano Sabbiadoro (Sabbiadoro roughly translates as ‘golden sand’ in Italian). The town and commune is a popular summer getaway in northern Italy, on the Adriatic coast. And no, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you – the optical illusion was intentional. It’s a composite image created by combining multiple exposures. We hope it takes you to a holiday state of mind, even if you can’t get to an actual beach this summer.
