Bonifacio on the island of Corsica, France

At the southern tip of Corsica, a Mediterranean island belonging to France, the heavily eroded stone cliffs rise up out of the water, topped by the small village of Bonifacio. With a medieval old town enclosed with a citadel, a busy marina, less than 3,000 year-round residents, and sunsets that turn the village skyline into an oil painting, it’s no surprise that many mainland French residents vacation in Bonifacio.
