Eifel National Park, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
The Eifel Mountains are home to this national park on the western border of Germany. Without snow, it’s easier to distinguish the grasslands, heaths, forests, and rocky stretches of the park’s 26,000 acres of wilderness. But under a blanket of white, Eifel National Park invokes a sense of snow-hiking adventure, or perhaps a strong urge to snuggle up with a hot beverage, thankful we’re indoors.
