The Mont Blanc massif, seen from Mont Salève, France

There are 11 peaks in the Mont Blanc massif, a sub-range of the Alps. Mont Blanc is the tallest peak in the group at more than 4,500 metres high. Every peak in the Mont Blanc range is taller than 4,000 metres. Hikers, climbers, and mountaineers tackle these mountains year-round, but for those interested in the view without the effort, there are cable cars to transport visitors to various look-out points in the range.
