Nam Van Lake, Macau, China

Nam Van Lake is one of two man-made lakes in Macau, China. Located at the southern end of Macau Peninsula, this scenic space literally translates to South Bay. While it is known for hosting an annual Dragon Boat Festival, in today’s image a spectacular firework display can be seen over the lake. Adjacent to the city centre and close to shopping centres and casinos, Nam Van Lake is a fantastic example of how nature and urbanity can coexist. Visitors can boat on the lake or simply admire the views of Macau from here.
