A museum of art, culture, and history. Royal Ontario Museum

On March 19, 1914, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) located in downtown Toronto, officially opened its doors to the public. Housing more than 40 galleries and exhibitions displaying culture, nature, and art, the ROM is Canada’s largest museum. Whether you’re visiting the museum or just passing by, its unique structure is hard to miss. Widely photographed, the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal was designed by architect Daniel Libeskind. Inspired by ROM’s curation of gems and minerals, Libeskind drew the initial proposal on a paper napkin and came up with the crystal design as seen in this image.
