Info. Aldeyjarfoss waterfall in the Highlands of Iceland
Iceland is home to thousands of waterfalls, so it says something that Aldeyjarfoss is considered one of the most beautiful sights in the country. Fed by Iceland's largest ice cap, the 20-metre waterfall tumbles into a beautiful blue lagoon and is surrounded by hexagonal basalt columns that were formed by lava flows. Aldeyjarfoss is located in the remote Highlands of Iceland, which stretch across the centre of the country covering over 40,000 square kilometres.
