Info. Shambhala roller coaster in PortAventura Park, Salou, Tarragona, Spain
These riders are going down one of Europe's biggest and fastest roller coasters. Shambhala is a steel hypercoaster (a roller coaster over 61 metres tall) in Spain's PortAventura Park, about 85 kilometres south-west of Barcelona. With a height of 76 metres, the ride was the tallest roller coaster in Europe when it opened in 2012, before its record was beaten in 2017 by the Red Force roller coaster in neighbouring theme park Ferrari Land. Inspired by the Kingdom of Bhutan, Shambhala has five hump-shaped hills positioned along the track and boasts a maximum speed of 134 kilometres per hour – the fourth fastest roller coaster in Europe.
