Discovering a beloved Victorian bay

Welcome to Whisky Bay, a summer gem for Victorians. Visit at just the right time of day and you’ll see many of the Bay’s rocks enveloped in warm sunlight - presenting colours not too dissimilar from a fine glass of whisky. But this is just one of many incredible spots to visit within Wilsons Promontory National Park, or ‘The Prom’ as it’s more commonly known by locals.

Covering a space of 50,000 hectares, The Prom is a wonderful showcase for both Australian flora and fauna. Taking part in one of its walking trails, for instance, could see you stumble upon anything from echidnas and emus to orchids and wattle. You can even cruise along the water in the state’s first national marine park.
