Ranthambore, park of parks. A good place to spot a tiger!
Covering about 392 square km, Ranthambhore is one of the oldest national parks of the country. It was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1973, and is still one of the best places to see a Bengal Tiger in its natural habitat. The park is also home to one of the largest banyan trees in the country. Getting here might not be the easiest, with the closest airport of Jaipur 160 km away. 2 safaris are organized every day, and well worth the visit, we hear. Apart from the Bengal Tiger, you could also spot the hyena, the sambar, the chital, the sloth bear and even a leopard! Not too far away is the Ranthambhore Fort, overlooking the entire range.
