It was in 1591 that he shifted his capital from Golkonda to the newly formed city of Hyderabad, with the Charminar at the centre of the city.Today, the Charminar is one of the most recognizable buildings in the country, an icon of the city of Hyderabad. It is a must-see for the tourist in the city, surrounded by the hundreds of shopping options around the Charminar.
