Stockpiling food. Pudgy cheeks, big eyes and a bushy tail
Chipmunks are small members of the squirrel family. With their ability to form an extensive network of tunnels underground, these talented architects have a safe home for hibernation and storage during the long winters. Come spring, summer and fall, they can be spotted scampering across various environments ranging from alpine forests to deserts. Their pudgy cheeks allow them to store food in their mouths, which they then carry to their nest.
