Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s October and this cute little chipmunk is likely enjoying its last meal out in the open before heading for hibernation through winter. Least chipmunks are inhabitants of the Rocky Mountains and can be spotted all through western and central Canada. Weighing approximately 50 grams, these are the smallest of all chipmunks. Between April and October, least chipmunks actively scurry around for foods such as berries, nuts and fungi and carry them in their cheek pouches to build a cache for the winter.
