Almora pines. Foggy pine forests of Almora
If you are looking for a hill station with mild climate throughout the year, Almora might be just what you want. Nestled between higher peaks of the Himalayas, Almora is one hill station that was NOT solely developed by the British. It was the power seat of the Chand Dynasty, who ruled this region for over a thousand years before losing it to the Gorkhas in 1790, who in turn lost the region to the British in the wars of 1814-1815.
