Here we are in the heart of Ottawa, looking out from the iconic Peace Tower. At nearly 100 metres tall, the Peace Tower is the nation’s most widely recognized landmark with the symbolic flag, which is changed through Monday to Friday. This tower consists of the Memorial Chamber which acts as a tribute to Canadians who have given up their lives in conflict. The carillon here includes 53 bells and is known to be the oldest carillon in North America. The clock faces on each side of the tower along with its Gothic Revival architecture make the Peace Tower a popular site for many.
