English oak tree in Monmouthshire, Wales
The owner of this land in Wales could have chopped down this English oak to make room for more crops, but we like to think they were too fond of the tree. And what’s not to like? Not only do trees provide beautiful scenery, they also provide animal habitat, cooling shade and jobs. What’s more, they combat climate changes by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere.
