Only around 700 miles from South America, Booth Island is closer to civilization than much of Antarctica. As such, this isle off the northward-jutting Antarctic Peninsula isn't too far a jaunt for tourists (as long as they're OK with freezing their butts off on a boat). Bundled-up visitors can see some super-cool scenery here—and, if they're lucky like the photographer who made this shot, catch some local gentoo penguins in a too-cute moment.
