Turtle time

The green sea turtle is among the largest of the seven sea turtle species, with some reaching 5 feet in length and weighing 700 pounds. They live throughout the world's subtropical waters, and like other sea turtles, they migrate long distances for food—but will return to hatch their own eggs on the same select nesting beaches where they were born. This turtle was spotted swimming in its Great Barrier Reef habitat near Lady Elliot Island, a coral cay that's a key nesting site for both green sea turtles and less bulky loggerheads.
