A coastal cruise

With steep green terrain rising on one side and deep turquoise seas stretching from the other, this road can be hard to keep your eyes on. The B9 coast road holds tight to the southwestern seashore of Mauritius, presenting a scenic challenge for drivers and cyclists alike. Here we see the hairpin-curve peninsula tipped by Macondé Rock, a hardened-lava promontory that's worth a pit stop for the view—as long as you don't mind taking a few stairs to the top.
