Stars over Sam Phan Bok
Sam Phan Bok, known as Thailand's Grand Canyon, is a huge rock reef that lies under a river and emerges during the dry season when the water level drops. Its name translates to '3,000 holes,' alluding to the crypts and depressions that define the riverine ravine. It's set in the easternmost part of Thailand: Ubon Ratchathani, a landlocked province bordering Laos and Cambodia. It's a bit far-flung, so the lush monsoon forests and national parks in the area are low on light pollution—making this stellar Milky Way shot possible.
