Check out the western coast of Türkiye on a map (or chart, if you happen to be on a boat) and you'll find a long, tangled line defined by countless promontories and peninsulas. Additionally, the adjacent Aegean Sea is specked with numerous islands, making for a mélange of straits, channels, inlets, and bays that's a playground for sailors. Our photo subject, sailing westward into the sunset, is on course for an international journey: Most of the larger islands in these parts belong not to Türkiye but its seaward neighbor Greece.
