It's World Bee Day

We’ve got the bees to thank for this scenic view in France’s beautiful Provence region. These famously hard-working insects pollinate flowers, like the nectar-rich lavender seen growing here. Beekeepers use colonies to pollinate crops as well as collecting honey, beeswax and other products created by the hive. Inside the boxes by this field, frames hold the honeycombs that bees produce to store honey, pollen and their young.

Bees are also critical for the pollination of fruits and vegetables, about a third of the food we eat is a result of honeybee pollination. So today, on World Bee Day, we invite you to stop and smell the flowers and give a nod to the bees that help colour our world.
