Inside an ice cave in Oregon's Three Sisters Wilderness
In central Oregon, three volcanic peaks in the Cascade Range are the central feature of the Three Sisters Wilderness area. And in various parts of the Three Sisters' 286,708 mountainous acres, ice caves form below the glaciers. Some hikers may miss the ice cave entrances completely. But an experienced guide might be just the thing if you’re interested in safely viewing these seasonal caverns and grottos. This time of year, prepare to get wet if you do.
