Ashland Bridge in Yorklyn, Delaware
More than a century after it was built, the Ashland Covered Bridge was recorded, in 1965, as one of the last three intact covered bridges in Delaware. It was restored in 2008 and is one of the centerpieces of Yorklyn, where residents are using it to demonstrate the importance of the town’s role in local history. On a crisp autumn day, like the one pictured here, crossing the bridge over Red Clay Creek must feel like a small trip back in time.
