Legend has it that tea was first brewed accidentally around 2737 BC in China due to a strong wind and some loose leaves. With several origin myths out there, tea's history is a little unclear. However, one thing remains unchanged—the feeling it evokes in tea drinkers. From gongfu tea practice in China to darye in Korea, tea cultures around the world are rich and fascinating. Tea tourism has gained popularity in recent years, with people visiting tea plantations and estates to learn about them and experience the history. Pictured here is one such place: Nuwara Eliya's Edinburgh Estate in Sri Lanka. With its colonial-era buildings and mist-shrouded tea gardens, this highland community has earned the name 'Little England'. It is also known for producing some of the world's finest orange pekoe tea. So, for your next trip, are you willing to 'chai' something new?
