The Hay Festival is an annual weeklong literature and arts festival that takes place in Hay-on-Wye, a small town in Wales, UK. The spring festival was founded in 1988 by Peter Florence and his parents and has since become a very prestigious literary events with sister festivals taking place internationally in countries such as India, Kenya, Spain and Colombia. The festival features a diverse range of talks, workshops, and performances from renowned writers, poets, artists, musicians, and other cultural figures from around the globe. Avid readers spend their time devouring literary content in tents and fields. To top it off, sculptures made up of books are placed around the grounds to make visitors feel embraced by their love of literature.
