Rugged rocks and ancient history. Dartmoor National Park
You can find this beautiful, sunlit landscape within Dartmoor National Park, a reserved area located in the southwest of England. Despite its beauty, Meldon Hill isn’t particularly well-known, although the park itself is a popular visitor destination. It is famous for its rugged landscape, ancient history and wildlife. The park features granite tors, which are large rocky outcrops that dot the landscape. Since ancient times, the region has been inhabited and is rich in archaeological sites. This includes prehistoric stone circles and cairns, Bronze Age settlements and medieval ruins.
Additionally, this park is home to ponies, birds of prey and rare butterflies along with numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, horseback riding and fishing. You’ll also find museums in the park, which provide information on the history, culture and ecology of the area.
