Salute to the Indian Police Service

Today we pay a tribute to the police personnel of our country. Police Commemoration Day honours the police individuals who were martyred during the 1959 clashes with China. In 1960, the day was officialised, and it has been recognised on the national level since 2012. This year, we have even more reason to salute our policemen and women – for taking charge of the country’s security during the many phases of the coronavirus lockdown.
